You Blow My Mind

Being involved in the dog rescue world is a humbling experience. I’m constantly in awe of all of the incredible people who come together, regardless of politics, religion, sexual orientation, or anything else. Everyone is focused on the goal of saving the life of dogs and they don’t let those opinionated distractions get in the way of accomplishing the goal.

Last week we did a couple of very long flights. They were tiring, actually exhausting, and we flew two dogs to better futures. You’ll learn more about their flights in upcoming posts.

We even flew right past this lady.

But from the Richmond Animal League who brought us one of the dogs, to the volunteer drivers on the other end with the American Pointer Rescue, everyone came together to accomplish the mission of getting Sam from down south to her new foster home up north.

It totally amazes me how so many people can come together to offer a little of this or that and that results in saving the life of a dog.

It just constantly reinforces for me that while we hear about so much bad news in the world, we can’t lose sight of the fact that many people do care and people can be really good souls.

And in our little part of the world we have willing flight volunteers who want to fly with us, fantastic financial supporters who do what they can, and super people who can’t afford to donate but can help us in many other ways.

I am probably totally inadequate in expressing my appreciation to all who help us and the dogs we fly but you blow my mind with your love, generosity, and support.

Thank you.
