  • Aptly named, this sweet and gentle hound sports a rust color that is second only to the orange colors of sunset and that is without the love and care of a home. Imagine what this beauty is going to be with all of those things and more?! Sunglow is a Walker Hound mix who is mostly golden but has some beautiful white and black outlines and highlights. She has not had an easy life as of yet, coming to us very underweight and shy and unsure of herself. No worries though, Sunglow is enjoying regular meals immensely and asks for seconds on a daily basis. She is learning about kindness and love from people as her dog skills and demeanor at stellar, she can get along with anything on any day! Sunglow is a bit shy and unsure, but is about the gentlest creature at the farm on any given day. She would do really well in a home with other dogs, it could seriously be 20 other dogs and she would be fine. She would also probably be best with people who understand her sensitive nature and therefore help to manage noise and chaos in the home until she settles in and finds the place that is hers and feels comfortable there. She could likely babysit an infant with whom she could grow and learn with but might be overwhelmed with toddlers and little people who like to make lots of loud noises and charge about the house. She totally sees the fun in that but prefers something a bit calmer. Sunglow is about 2 years old and weighs about 40 lbs, needing to put on at least another 10 to get up to her ideal weight. She asks for nothing, acts in a stellar fashion in a crate but loves the outdoors and feels most at home there. A fenced in yard and walks to exercise her smeller would also be ideal to grow and learn. Training classes might also help to build confidence. Come, see the glow that has won hearts already. All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. Our Adoption Form can be completed online https://savinggracenc.org/how-to-adopt/. Please visit our new website https://savinggracenc.org An Adoption Form is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a potential adoptee or a foster home. Sending an Adoption Form does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. If you'd like to donate to help cover the cost of care for these wonderful dogs awaiting new homes, please visit https://savinggracenc.org/giving/ Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
